Acting like a jilted ***** after cancelling cover

My experience with dicovery insure has been horrible. They promise you all these fuel cash-back, but don't tell you that if you work hard, and end up leaving the office late so often, they'll classify you as a habitual drunkard and punish you for it. On top of that, their cover is extremely expensive!!

I finally decided to scout for a cheaper insurer who won't punish me for leaving the office after dark. The cover I got was exactly the same as Discovery, but a whole R800 cheaper for 2 cars and household items. I therefore arranged for the new cover to kick in on the 1st of April and notified Discovery on the first week of march. The Advisor I use advised me that all has been taken care of, but lo and behold, on the 28th of March, discovery went ahead and deducted the full premium. I talked to them and they promised to refund the premium applicable from 1st April, and that it'll take 5 working days to process. They also advised me to book for the tracking device to be removed, which I did, but the dates available are only in May.

After about two weeks, i called back to enquire the status of my refund, and the new story is that they can only refuns after the the tracking devices are removed from both vehicles - ostensibly because there's an applicable penalty oif they're not removed.

The main question is, if I didn't have any refund outstanding, what whould they have done? Come "reposses" the vehicles???

Sore losers!!!
