Absolutely no sense

Good day I am forced to contact Discovery insure via this platform as attempted contact with the procurement department has been unsuccessful on numerous occasions. I have a few questions that I would like to have answered by either of the 3 names I’ve mentioned above. How is it that Discovery insure does not support the black female owned panel shops down here in KZN, we have a few MBR’s that are members of our very own KZN Women in business organization . One of which being “big Five Panel & Paint”, I have been notified that the repairer has been trying for many years to be loaded onto your panel as a service provider but would keep being told by your assessing company Net assess that they have no space for another repairer, due to volumes in the area, if this was the case, then might I suggest that you go take a look at the closest Discovery repairer to Big five P/B, which is Flanagans P/B’s, now if you had done your research and not gone with your outsourced assessing company namely Netassess, then you would know that this repairer has no BEE compliance status and has no female partners within their company. Panel beaters on you preferred panel listed by Net assess have been confirmed by the SAICB that there is BEE fronting and Discovery Insure still forcefully procures work to these service providers. If we look at your outsourced assessing company, “Netassess”, how does Discovery insure have possibly their biggest monthly spend with a Level 8 BEE status company, surely you could split the work up amongst many of our very own level 1 BEE, 100% owned assessing companies all over KZN, the whole motor book is outsourced to 1 company, is this right? if you need names to vet, then I would gladly provide same. Now Big Five P/B’s have recently been told they were loaded to the Discovery insure panel, emails to prove have been seen and noted by a “Lisa” from Netassess confirming same, however to date, not 1 vehicle has been authorised to the repairer, rather Netassess opting to direct vehicles in the vicinity of Big Five P/B’s past them and to their “preferred” repairer, Flanagan’s P/B. I have personal experience with this as I myself requested a family members out of warranty vehicle at the time, be authorised to Big Five, was declined and sent to Dbn P/B, 30km’s from her residence, Big Five being 5km down the road, does this make sense? So, we do not wish that Flanagan’s be removed completely, we would rather the work all be split up equally, this is not an unrealistic request. Would supporting Black female owned repairer’s and assessing companies not improve your CSI scores and promote your company? So, Discovery, what is your stance on this, do they take this up with you by going to the SAIA and speaking to Thembe Palangwane who is the GM for Governance & transformation, or do they need to go as far as the competition committee? I am hoping for a positive response from your procurement department, so that you can in fact help and promote these young female entrepreneurs. Please do not see this as an act of attack, rather a statement as supporting them is in both your best interests. Please do not remove this post, doing so will force me to upload the details of this report to every other social media platform. I would like the whole community to hear the outcome of this. Alternatively, Please contact Mano from Big 5, so resolve the issues.
