a HUGE middle finger from Discovery Insure

On Friday morning I was shocked to find my car standing on bricks. At 06:30 I tried phoning Discovery and was advised about the office hours, so I waited until 08:00 before trying again. I logged my claim and after we determined that I am not eligible for a rental car on my policy, I asked for this claim to be handled urgently. Instead, the person handling the claim went home to enjoy the weekend - without authorising my claim. I was furious and received an appology from the person who picked this up and my claim was only authorised at 16:25. Needless to say, that did not help me at all. I had to make travelling arrangements at my own cost to get to work. I have only started at a new job 2 weeks ago and staying away was not an option as I am under probation. Discovery had absolutely no sympathy with this. All I ever get is appologies, no solutions at all. This is now day four, my car is still standing on bricks.

After being a client of various Discovery products since 1999, I really valued the fact that although the products are expensive they are (or used to be) reliable. I have been unemployed since December 2015, but still I made a plan to honour my obligation towards Discovery

Hello morne770,

Thank you for the time afforded and discuss your concerns in brief.

Your car was assessed this morning and we're awaiting a report on the damages we need to attend to. Once we have the report in place, you'll be advised when the repairs will be conducted.

Regards
Thabani
