YOUR MEDICAL AID IS A ******* ****

I am really convinced that Discovery is just a money making scheme which our employers force us to use. Last year during the second wave of the Corona Virus, I was not feeling well and my Dr wasn't at his surgery. I went to casualty where they stabilized me. I also had a runny stomach. The Dr working on me told me he is convinced I have Covid-19 symptoms but he feels I don't need to be admitted. He took a lot of blood samples and gave me a prescription for medication. That medication cost me around R800.00. Last few days I have been Hounded by Dr's and all Service providers saying I did not pay the claims at all. I just called Discovery now & I was advised that Keycare Plus miraculously changed & am now only allowed to casualty once a year.

So what if I have a car accident not & hospital discharges me because it's just whiplash, then the next day I get sick, and can't breathe, get to hospital, be stabilized, take a prescription & leave? Does this mean that I must force the hospital to admit me? Should I die first before they pay?

What happened to the hospital getting an authorization if a patient is ill? Do we choose to go to hospital?
