Withdrawal

I am writing to address a deeply concerning issue with my medical aid coverage. After leaving my previous employer (with whom I was employed for only one month), my medical aid through Discovery was abruptly withdrawn in the middle of the month without prior notice. Now, I am being asked to pay R2,800 mid-month to reinstate coverage, followed by an additional payment at month-end.

This situation is particularly frustrating as I proactively communicated with one of your agents beforehand, expressing my intention to continue the medical aid under self-payment. At the time, I was instructed to "wait until the withdrawal process" from my employer’s plan was complete. However, the withdrawal occurred mid-month, and there was no communication regarding the immediate payment required to avoid lapsing coverage.
