Wishy-washy health plan guides lack REAL information

Dear Discovery

I would like to bring to the attention of Discovery the lack of detailed information available in the published marketing guides Discovery has for the various health plans.

I have lost count of the number of times I have had to phone the call centre (at my cost!) just to get proper information about an item on my plan because the info. available in the guide is just so vague and wishy-washy!

Yes, Discovery, it's nice to have a pretty brochure with **** smiling models and a summary of bits of info., but what your customers really want is REAL information, not a vague, wishy-washy guide. And what your customers also don't really want is to spent hours on the phone to your call centre agents (who are usually just as clueless) to get the information about their plan that should be more readily available in the first place!

By way of example, instead of wasting paper with a wishy-washy statement like "Blood tests - We [i.e. Discovery] pay for a defined list of blood tests for each pregnancy", say "We pay for these [quantity] bloodtests in pregnancy" and advise with an actual list of the bloodtests! Wow, Discovery, just imagine actually giving your customers REAL information upfront instead of disguising it in meaningless marketing waffle!

I remember asking this specific question to a call centre agent a couple of years back when I was pregnant and it was a small mission to actually get the right information!

I shall for this moment overlook the fact that Discovery are clearly totally oblivious to the bloodtests requested of pregnant women by their care providers as the list of bloodtests "covered by Discovery in pregnancy" and those required by my care provider in my pregnancy was almost a complete mismatch!

Poor show on your health plan brochures, Discovery! A complete lack of REAL information! It would be nice if Discovery could provide proper information about plans to their customers, if not on the brochure, then somewhere online, so customers can readily access this. In this way, customers don't have to spend hours on the phone getting the information about their plans from clueless Discovery call centre agents.

I know this complaint will fall on deaf ears at Discovery and although I might get a call from a Discovery "client relationship manager" so Discovery can "claim" they respond on this forum and feign an attempt at placating this complaint, I know Discovery will in fact do nothing to change things at all.
