WILLING TO PAY DR'S FOR ********** CLAIMS, BUT PT MUST PAY FOR HOSPITAL

My sister joined Discovery Keycare Plus on 1 May 2022. On 19 May she was unfortunately hospitalized due to heart failure. The dr that admitted her to hospital are not willing to complete the PMA form or send through the reports required to authorize and pay the hospital for the hospital stay.

What i dont understand is a patient can not demand to be kept or admitted to hospital. The dr is admitting the patient. Discovery paid the dr that admitted my sister (even for 2 visits where the dr definitely did not consult with my sister) but they are refusing to pay the hospital. By paying the dr Discovery gave their negotiation power to the dr. She received her money so she doesnt care about sending through reports as requested by Discovery.

Discovery (and the hospital) says they can not force the dr to send through the reports required, so the patient just becomes liable for the outstanding money. How does that work???

I really feel bad that my sister fell sick shortly after her medical came into effect, but please Discovery, have you considered how my sister must feel after a Cardiac failure diagnoses???? She has not been to the dr in 10 years, and now you hear you are dying???

Every time we contact Discovery we walk into a brick wall. The dr is refusing to do what is expected and Discovery is just accepting it without any assistance to the patient.
