Will my newborn be an adult before Discovery Health pay my claim?

My beautiful son was delivered safely on the 12 February 2017 by an awesome team at the hospital.

Besides getting use to a new born in the house you would think that the medical aid who have been aware of this birth since conception would be supportive to the various bills that need to be paid, seeing as they get paid timelously every month and now my son has been added to my scheme for which they will receive more money, and really isn't sorting out claims kinda part of their job, but NO.

I submitted the claim for my gynae's bill on the 6 March, received their automated confirmation that they had received it and began the process of waiting for them to pay their portion before i could submit the balance to my gap cover. Anyway, a week goes by and i hear nothing.... so i phone them (screaming newborn in the background) to find out what is happening. I get told that the gynae's invoice has the incorrect modifier code on ( like I am meant to know what that is), so they haven't done anything...... seriously??? Surely the correct way of handling this would be to contact their customer and explain why the bill can't be paid .... so that the problem can be rectified and the claim paid... nope, the best thing Discovery could do was NOTHING.

So I then contact my gynaes office, they amend the invoice and I resubmit it to Discovery the very next day, 15 March and receive their auto reply saying they have received the adjusted claim.... the waiting begins....

It is now the 24 March and the claim that they received HAS STILL NOT BEEN PROCESSED... did I mention that I found this out because I contacted them again and all they can tell me what that I sent the claim to the incorrect address..... yes, sorry its my fault.

The absolute best they can do, is send the invoice to the claims department and I can get an answer in 8hrs ( not really 8hrs because they don't work weekends, so i will only hear back .... maybe.... on monday morning) and this is a favour as it usually takes 2-3 working days

So my 6 week check up is on Tuesday and my gynae hasn't been paid, because Discovery Health can't get their admin sorted out and when all else fails blame the customer for sending it to the incorrect address.

Now that is customer service hey....

I will begin my waiting to see if i get a phone call on Monday (as promised) ...... or maybe when my son turns 40,.. whichever happens first ..... Discovery my reference number is ********** 488

tick, tick , tick ........
