Why bother having Discovery as a medical aid?????

I have a chronic debilitating illness which requires chronic medication on a monthly basis. We are in our above threshold benefit (as we have just got out of our self-payment gap) and 90% of my medication is not paid for by Discovery as I have used my funds for the year which is R21 000.00 (which is not a lot when you are taking 13 different medications). The operator at Discovery has the audacity to tell me it is my decision how I use the funds. There is only ONE OPTION on how to spend the funds, I need the medicine on a monthly basis.

Discovery do not cover pain medication , anti-inflammatories etc etc on their chronic benefit, and their list of medications that they do cover is so limited, I ask myself 'so what do they actually cover?'. A big part of my condition is pain management and this is done using various pain****ers and anti-inflammatories.

I am using Dischem for my medication, which is one of their preferred suppliers, I am trying on my part to do what I can to adhere to their rules in order to have medication paid for, but Discovery are not living up to their end of the bargain.
