What waiting period?

I am currently in immense pain and need to undergo an emergency Appendectomy, but was just informed that I am in a waiting period, which cannot be correct, as I was not off a medical aid for more than the prescribed 90 days prior to joining Discovery Medical Aid.

My claim is therefore pending approval, and I just have to stomach the pain, I guess. I am utterly disgusted, as the only option to continue with the surgery is sign on as a private client, yet I pay my premium every month.

Discovery, please advise, as the procedure could be life-threatening, if not treated immediately.
