What is the point of Savings?

My daughter has Autism and ADHD (both are not supported by Discovery as a Chronic Illness by the way). My savings is depleted by March and then I'm left covering medical bills for the rest of the year because I'm still paying a Discovery Premium but as there are no savings... 1. They DO NOT cover her Occupational Therapy Sessions which runs into the thousands per month. 2. They DO NOT cover her Speech Therapy Sessions which runs into the thousands 3. They DO NOT cover her ADHD medication which comes in just over R1000 per month.

Dear Discovery, not all of us are executives earning the big bucks. It would be a real treat if you could actually consider Autism and ADHD as a Chronic Illness so that I don't have to get into debt on a monthly basis in order for my daughter to improve...but hey...enjoy those premiums I pay when I can't use my medical aid from April - December in the year...well except for when I need to be admitted to Hospital...but lets not forget all of those pesky co-payments for Hospital Admissions when you have no Savings available.

Update: All I got was a generic response on how a council decides what is considered chronic etc. and how this response might not be favourable.

My medical savings is half way to being depleted. I hope you as a medical aid are proud of the fact that you take advantage of people like me.

Attention everyone - if your kids suffer from autism or adhd, you’re *****ed because Discovery doesn’t care…
