My husband had major stroke on 8th May 2015.. Since then we had been to different hospitals and numerous times. Now husband is disabled and in order to service I had to relocate back to Europe n Feb 2017… I had medical aid on my name till end of feb 2017.. but suddenly, maybe one month ago, I get e-mail saying that I need to settle outstanding R1558 for service(nov 2016), provided whilst my husband was in the hospital. Discovery employee Cindy Jean-Pierre just sticks to one answer: you were in the self payment gap, thus pay! Only partial payment was done to service provider and authorization was updated!! What the hell!!! I am trying to explain, that even though we were in the self payment gap, the procedure was done in the hospital and this was done only with authorization, which was obtained by the hospital personal! Now, this should come out of the hospital plan! Did anyone tried to investigate it? To contact the hospital or even to track down the hospital charges? I am in Europe, not coming back to SA, which is full of *********** people and I am not in a position to call Discovery or even hospital to find out who is more useless!
