Waiting periods on Addition of dependent

I have been with Discovery since 2008 and the service I received from them is appalling to say the least. I requested to add a dependent onto my existing, long-standing medical aid plan , was totally honest in filling out the application only to discover that I have actually disadvantaged myself. Discovery imposed a general waiting period and conditions specific waiting periods as well as anything resulting from the conditions, which basically means no cover at all for 12 months. Having been a loyal and staunch member of Discovery for almost 10 years, I had imagined that Discovery would give this a thought. I am totally disappointed and disgusted at the lack of compassion from Discovery and have decided to move my business elsewhere.
