Waiting periods for a baby

I recently changed jobs and decided to take discovery health as my provider. I wanted to avoid a break in cover so I submitted my documents. Today I have my 1 year old son at the dr due to a bad chest infection he needs to be admitted but due to a waiting period we were turned away. I then made a trip to the Discovery head office only to be pushed from pillar to post. I need my child admitted.... Someone help me
