Waiting for days for a specialist approval from discovery

Good day, i have visited my doctor regarding my constant bleeding. I was refered to a specialist but due to my medical aid option, pre-approval is required. The doctor requested for approval on the 5th of March. He said it takes 3 days max to receive a approval. 7 days later an I am still waiting for an answer from discovery. I'm not sure what is going on at there offices. I am feeling weeker every day that passes by due to the bleeding. I called in 3 times over the past 7 days but I am constantly told the approval is still in process. Could some please let me know what is going on at discovery. Why does approvals take so long! Thank you
