Waiting for Authorization 🥺

I have been waiting for Authorization to see a gynae specialist. My GP sent through request for authorization on Monday the 04/10/2021. I was told that I will receive the Auth withing 48 hours and was booked for the appointment with the gynae for Wednesday 06/10/2021. I did not receive an Auth approval yet and I missed my appointment. I have a cyst on my left ovary and have been suffering with excruciating pain for the past week. I went to the trauma unit at the Mount Edgecombe life hospital and they told me that they cannot admit me or do anything as this has to be treated by a gynae specialist. The meds that were given to me by the trauma unit is not helping me. I called discovery and they told me that it takes 3-4 days to receive authorization. I don't understand why does it take that long. As a customer I think the process and turn around time is far too long. We are paying for medical aid so that we get treated on time instead of suffering when we are not well. The reason we are paying for medical aid is because we want to be treated the same time and not wait like how government hospitals have patients wait due to having to many patients to see to. I pray I get my authorisation soon because I can't bear this pain in my tummy. 😢😣
