Utterly disappointed!

I am on the Essential Smart Plan with Discovery. I was too late in trying to upgrade my plan and ended up falling pregnant in January this year. This was supposed to be a beautiful time but it is actually the most stressful time having to work out what you will be paying out of pocket for all your medical procedures. My gynae charges R12 000 for a normal delivery and Discovery will only cover R3 826, I have to pay the balance of R8 174 out of pocket! How can you only cover R3826 for a normal birth at a private hospital? How is that even fair? That is only for the gynae and excludes other specialist's costs. They apparently cover 5 pre/post antenatal classes but the total amount that they cover is only R837, you have to cover the rest out of pocket. I cannot wait to be done with my pregnancy so that I can change medical aids, life cover and the rewards program.
