Utterly appalled with the customer service and lack of TCF provided by Discovery health
I put in a claim with Discovery in the middle of March. Up until today the funds did not clear. Each time you call them they give you a different story. I spoke to Riaana last week and she called and told me that the payment was released and will reflect by Tuesday. Called on Saturday and the person I spoke to says that they cannot tell me what time funds were released. Called today and Sizwe tells me the agent did not check but the funds were not released. Mind you I spoke to senior consultants. This service is appalling. Initially they said the practitioners ICD codes was not complete but not once did they communicate with me or the practitioner. eventually after 3 weeks we got the correct ICD codes and submitted. I request the old bank account be deleted and the new one be uploaded which every time I call in they confirm these bank details as profile confirmation. After being told on the 16th April the funds have been released and even on the 18th of April. Today being the 20th they say that the account was not unsuspended for it to be paid. I mean seriously where does this end with them. I have been patient. They then speak to you as if they are doing you a favor as if you don't pay for medical aid or as if customer service is not important! They were very fast to deduct the money from the MSA. There was not a call I made to Discovery where I did not spend less than 30 minutes. Calls vary from 45minutes to hours. Apparently there are no team managers and have senior consultants or agent who also don't have much authority and also speak down to you. I am truly disappointed and negatively shocked in the manner they carry their business day to day. Customers are clearly not important. If they do this on the medical aid, I can only imagine what happens with the insurance and banking department. Should they not be treating clients fairly? or is this just something they push aside? Then i speak to Andrew in Client relations and he says he will call me back in a few minutes, he needs to speak to finance, its been an hour and I find myself calling discovery again. Then I am told they cannot transfer you to a specific agent. Its like they do this to prolong the process deliberately. In my line of work ethics, if I tell a client I will call back then I need to do so, If I assure a client that this is the process, I cannot go back to the client and give them a different story as this results in very frustrated clients. This is a daunting process and I don't know what it will take for them to assist and really expediate the process.
