Useless Discovery Health

Discovery Health is the worst medical aid company i have ever dealt with. A GP means nothing in their view and cannot refer you to undergo sleep tests. The GP must refer you to a ENT or Heart specialist and only the specialist can then refer you to undergo sleep test. What utter BS, Sleep tests were conducted and it was established that i suffer from severe sleep apnea and require a CPAP machine. I have been struggling with Discovery since 20 May 2024 for the full allocated amount to be paid to the supplier. R5k was paid but the allocated amount is R13-14K.

I have have made numerous phone calls to the call center (at my expense) with out success. There was one lady that gave her best to try and assist me and even she gave up after numerous follow ups. I don't blame her, i would have done the same. One can only endure so much humilation with a customer from an employer. Made another call on Wed 26 Jul. The operator looked on the system and according to him the system shows that the outstanding amount was approved on 14 June. He will make a note on the system that i called again and he will call me back on Fri 28 June with feedback. Till today no phone call received. When you request to speak to a senior person, they are never available. I will never in my life make use of any Discovery products out of my own will. Unfortunately in this case we were forced by the employer to join Discovery Health
