Useless at looking after current members!

I had worked for a major insurance company and went onto Discovery. Both my partner and I were on it for a few months. When I had left this company I had tried moving my medical aid to my private capacity. I HAD MAILED THE SAME DOCUMENTS THROUGH COUNTLESS TIMES! yet no one knew what was going on. Not only did I call and email countless times but so did my mother, but still no one knew so I had given up. A couple months down the line I am being handed over for \outstanding"amounts WHEN YOUR STAFF COULDN'T CARE TO KEEP ME ON YOUR BOOKS BUT YOU WANT MY MONEY!?! I was willing to be a PAYING CLIENT but got OVER LOOKED. I have dealt with unprofessional staff who knew nothing taking time out of my work day and now I have to continue doing so to sort out YOUR MESS! """

Hello SashLee,

Thank you for your comment.

The Medical Savings Account (MSA) is a fixed amount that Discovery Health gives you at the beginning of the year for day-to-day medical expenses. You pay this amount back to us in 12 equal monthly instalments but, if necessary, you are free to use the whole amount at the beginning of the year to pay for valid medical expenses. The 12 instalments form part of your monthly contribution.

If you leave the Discovery Health Medical Scheme part-way through the year, we calculate how much of the MSA you have used and how much you have contributed to it. If you have used more from the account than what you have paid into the account, then you will need to pay the difference to us.

As discussed I confirmed that the listing is correct as you were aware of the amount owing however did not respond to our communication regarding the amount owing to the Scheme.

I am sorry that I could not provide you with a more favourable answer to your query however it is line with the Scheme rules.

Kind regards
Jashvir
