Upgrade gone wrong
To say I’m disappointed is an understatement, I have been on discovery medical aid for over 11 years. I went from my moms medical scheme to my own staying with discovery. I have all my cars insured, my home insured as well as bank with discovery.
On the 4th of December I started an application to join my partners medical aid as you can only upgrade in January. I was given many things to do and I phoned many times to check the status as no one ever responded to me. I was told to send additional info which I did and got no response again. I was then told to change the cover date to Jan 1st, I then did that and got no response. Fast forward to January I was then told I need to withdraw from my medical scheme before I can be added. I then cancelled my medical aid and submitted the info, the lady NEVER responded! I called in and was assisted by a gentleman on the 7th of Feb (YES YOU HEARD RIGHT) I was then told he will activate me as of 1 March and claimed he did it while we were on the phone. He said confirmation would be sent within 24 hours. It never was. 1 week later I received an email to say I wouldn’t be added to my partners medical aid and that I can only apply in JAN, I DID!!!!!! Discovery messed me around CONSTANTLY and this is why it wasn’t done in Jan (I have all emails & calls)
now I’ve had to cancel my medical aid because they told me to and then declined my application.
If discovery doesn’t phone or help resolve the issue, I will cancel all my cars/medical aid/home insurance/bank account as well as mine and my partners medical aid.
