Unprocessed claims

If there was a negative ***, I would give Discovery Health that type of review. I'm 8 months pregnant and with every check up, I have had to pay out my own pocket and then claim from Discovery. None of those claims were paid on time. I have had to chase them up before they start processing them. They have extended their turnaround time, but they still cannot honor it. All you get from them is an apology and a consultant who is trying to explain their inconsistent processes. Their claims department is falling apart. I now totally understand why most doctors would opt to give patients invoices to claim on their own. It is a struggle to get claims paid out. I made a mistake of upgrading my medical aid for day to day savings. If you are looking for a medical aid with discovery, opt for a hospital cover if indeed you have high chances of needing hospital admissions, otherwise pay build a emergency fund that includes day to day doctor's visits.
