Unjustified deductions for cover I never had!
1. I sent an application form for cover on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. 2. I made a simple mistake on the application form for when cover should start, instead of 01/12/2019, I typed 01/10/2019… a simple error that Discovery should have acknowledged as the application was made post 01/10/2019! 3. I put effort into correcting the mistake as soon as I received the first certificate of membership with an incorrect effective date, being 01/10/2019. That was before I even submitted the application. 4. The mistake was indeed corrected and a new certificate of membership was issued with a correct effective date being 01/12/2019. 5. I put effort to correct the mistake, to avoid precisely the situation I am being subjected to now, where I am being charged for periods (Oct & Nov 2019) before I even app**** for cover. 6. Despite all of this, Discovery has been deducting premiums for these months wherein I never had cover, nor had app**** for cover! 7. What’s even more aggravating, is that the deductions have been made without my consent & as a result I have been paying double monthly premiums in December 2019, and January 2020, as Discovery is supposedly recovering premiums’ for October & November 2019, wherein I must emphasise: I HAD NO COVER! I WAS NOT A MEMBER OF DISCOVERY! So I simply find this unacceptable & will not be held liable for cover I never had during October & November 2019. For that reason, I plea with Discovery to advise how soon I can have the extra deductions credited back into my personal bank account please.
