Unhappy

I recently found out I was pregnant, I consulted a doctor and gynea since having found out. I have been informed that my visits to the gynea and any medications that I may need are not covered by the medical aid but taken out of my savings. My savings have since been exhausted and I am only in my first trimester. So I am paying medical aid every month for a service that is not being provided. I have also been informed that I cannot change options that do cover pregnancy as its the middle of the year. So I am basically being punished by my medical aid for getting pregnant and not having the foresight that I would fall pregnant.

Hello Tsebonkie,

Thank you for your comment.

As discussed I confirmed that out of hospital consultations are funded from your available day to day benefits on your chosen plan type. I confirmed that certain benefits apply to certain plan options and should you need to change your plan you may discuss this with your financial advisor. We do allow members to upgrade their plan type during our Year End Revision period which we will send out communication to confirm when this period starts from.

Thank you for allowing us to assist with your query.

Kind regards
Jashvir
