Unfairly handed over
Received an sms from a debt collecting company stating that I owe Discovery a few thousand rand. This is the first word that i have heard of this, I haven't received any correspondence from Discovery stating that I owe them money after I left my previous job 6 months ago. None of my details has changed since. I phoned Discovery in Nov for a tax certificate which was sent to same address I have used for the last 11years. So please explain to me when could you not get a hold of me and my cell number haven't changed in 5years. Please tell me how you just all of a sudden don't have my details???? Yet the first sms from your debt collecting company they got a hold of me. As for the debt collecting company adding their charges to your alleged amount I owe feel free to pay that, because I'm not paying it.
Thank you for taking my call. Further our telecom, letters have been sent by Discovery Health Medical Scheme for a period in five consecutive months, starting in July 2015. Regrettably, your old employer did not provide us with a notice of your postal address change, which resulted in you not having had sight of any of the letters.
You confirmed that you understand the monies due to the Scheme and that you will be in contact with the relevant collection agency. We view this matter as concluded; however please feel free to contact us, should you require any additional information and/or assistance regarding the matter at hand.
