Unfair income verification and increased premium
My Son is 22 and a full time university student with no income and solely depend on me. Since he is holidays, my wife deposited R2000 in to his account to buy grocery and other things. Discovery advised him to send a three month bank statement for proof of income. Once they received the statement, they increased his premium from R330 to R832. When I called the call centre, the lady insisted that even if the parents transfer any money to his account, it is regarded as income and they will have to adjust the premium. Even if I take that argument in to account, how will a person who earned R2000 in three months pay a subscription of R832 per month.<br> I think discovery is ********* in doing this kind of income verification and I want this to be rectified.
