Unfair denial of emergency medical claims

I am extremely disappointed with Discovery Medical Aid. My husband was involved in a serious head-on motorcycle collision, and we took him to the emergency room immediately to ensure he was okay. Even though he was later confirmed to have no serious internal injuries, Discovery denied the claim, stating it does not qualify as an emergency expense.

This is unreasonable and unfair. The ER visit was completely justified at the time due to the severity of the accident. Emergency medical benefits should cover situations where immediate care is necessary — not only when serious injuries are confirmed afterward. The denial added unnecessary stress after an already traumatic event.

I expected better support and clarity from Discovery in genuine emergency situations.
