Underwriting

Good day i am writing this review as i am just not getting feedback from underwriting,I am writing to formally dispute the 3-month general waiting period that has been app**** to my upcoming medical aid policy, which is scheduled to activate on 1 October 2026.

This waiting period has been app**** in administrative error and violates Section 29A of the Medical Schemes Act.

My transition from Bonitas Medical Fund to Discovery Health involves 0 days break in cover. My final day as an active member on the Bonitas scheme is 30 September 2026, and my Discovery membership begins seamlessly the next day, on 1 October 2026.

Because I have maintained continuous, uninterrupted medical scheme cover in South Africa for well over 24 months and have zero gap in cover, I am legally exempt from the 3-month general waiting period, as well as any 12-month condition-specific waiting periods. My full scheme benefits must be active from day one.

Kindly review this and remove the 3-month general waiting period from my profile, and confirm in writing that my full day-to-day network benefits and Chronic Illness Benefits (CIB) for my COPD will be 100% active and funded from 1 October 2026.
