Understanding medical aid terms and conditions

After many years with Discovery, I have no intention of changing to another medical aid. My concern is understanding the many terms, medical aid 'Slang', formulas, matrix charts and spreadsheets that get thrown my way which only increases my misunderstanding. After visiting my dentist who said that there was nothing more that she could do for me and referred me to a periodontist. I submitted the quote and Discovery would only pay half the quote. The Discovery agent stated that a periodontist is not specialised dentistry and suggested that I take out Gap Cover. After paying GAP COVER for more than a year, I made another expensive appointment with the periodontist and submitted the quote to Discovery and the GAP to Gap Cover. The reply in medical aid 'slang' is that this Gap Cover would not cover that GAP. I was forced to cancel my gap Cover as in my situation, the GAP COVER was a myth. My request to Discovery is to make medical aid and GAP COVER easily understandable. My career in the corporate world was that all documents and proposals were on ONE A3 size sheet, which was the standard throughout the world. IT IS POSSIBLE to make medical aid understandable in simple language, without medical aid slang, 'hidden rules' and without many pages of glossy 'smoke and mirrors' marketing material. HELP It is possible Regards Guy Keeling
