Unauthorized debit

In January I contacted Discovery to cancel my membership due to financial reasons. I was assured that everything was fine, my membership certificate was sent to me and I didn't think there would be any problems.<br> <br> Today I noticed a debit from Discovery went off my account! BUT I CANCELLED THE MEDICAL AID! Nothing was mentioned from the consultant to me about a debit going off for February!! The medical aid was never even used so why must I now pay?? Speaking to a consult today, I was told that I owe them so I must still pay. BUT FOR WHAT??? Sorry Discovery but over R 5000 is alot of money to just throw away!!!<br> <br> How can you even take a debit off without my authorization?! Especially when it wasn't even discussed with me or mentioned to me! <br> <br> I will never go back to this medical aid again after the appalling service and lack of communication from the consultant!
