This is not very ethical

Discovery health is refusing to pay the complete anaesthetist bill for a PMB condition that they approved.

They state that I used a non DSP. I did not choose the service provider and was only made aware of their costs the night before my early morning admission for surgery. I had no opportunity to make alternative arrangements as my surgery was critically important .

The neurosurgeon involved was appointed to me in the ER room during my initial hospital stay.

Discovery gap cover refuses to cover the shortfall as they say that it's a PMB condition.

I'm now left with a bill of over R22k through no fault of mine.
