The worst medical aid is Discovery - Dont be fooled by their smooth talks when joining you are going to walk into a nightmare

I have submitted my Chronic medication form to the following address *** and *** as it says on the form no response been now 2 months. I cant believe the struggle I am having with the Keycare plus since the day of inception in October 2025.

I need my chronics but of course Keycare will make this as difficult as they can not to fulfill the 26 chronic conditions officially listed on the Chronic Disease List (CDL) under Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMBs). So of course they will say email address is incorrect or we excluding the benefit for a year.

They dont cover medicines at Dischem, went to the doctor as I had sinus infection and needed antibiotics it was declined because of a waiting period. I am paying Discovery 2500 per month just because its a medical aid and I need something if I land up in hospital.

I have had this fight over and over I was even threatened on the phone to cancel my membership and refund my payments plus my bladder problem was put on the exclusion list for a year no treatment - Why because I started to get upset and so she decided to put that condition on the exclusion list to just punish me because she has the authority to do that.

I paid to see a specialist for treatement R1500 because of my bladder I need urgent reconstructive surgery but the motivation letter was declined because I was according to her rude so she is going to make my life difficult and add it to the exclusion list for 1 year.

The in contracted doctor I visited in January - That doctor has been only paid now in May / June some are being declined and resubmitted. Its a nightmare

This is the worst experience of my life no medical aid for 1 year but you must pay R2500 for what exactely if Doctor visits and meds are declined for exclusions not even on the list.

Since inception in October 2025 till the 30th May 2026 I have paid all my doctors visits, specialist appointment and medications.

As soon as they see a repeat visit for example the bladder problem I am suffering with they add it to exclusions. I was told by Dischem that sinus infection is added is on my exclusions list my blood pressure which is a part of the 26 conditions is excluded and I cannot get chronics on this.

Discovery is a nightmare do not join them you will have endless problems and threats from them. and they will use their authority to make life very very difficult for you - There is no compassion or understanding.

I have tried complaining to the medical board but it just went on and on because when they ask for feedback from Discovery it is not given then its on the phone spending airtime and fighting for information and then getting threatened to exclude something again or to refund me and blacklist me from all medical aid groups. NOBODY LISTENS ALL THEY WANT IS THE MONEY.

You must shut up and pay if you complain life is going to get very difficult for you.
