TERRIBLY disappointed in Discovery Health medical aid - from start to finish!

If I could give a 0 or even minus rating, I would have. I phoned Discovery this morning to arrange admission for removal of a lump in the breast. Only to be told that if it's not cancer, the fund will not pay for the procedure. This is the first time I am made aware of this. We have cancer in the family (breast cancer to be precise) - so do you have to wish it's malignant, just so your medical aid can pay out??? After spending thousands on premiums, with no claims for hospitalization or procedures up to date, this is not the feedback I expected. I will NOT advise anyone to join Discovery. Rather spend your money wisely on another fund that will not spend most of their time trying to find excuses not to pay out. The first consultant I spoke with, simply put the phone down in my ear in mid-conversation. I am TERRIBLY shocked and disappointed in Discovery Health. I'm still awaiting feedback on numerous letters I had to submit from doctors - should this claim be turned down, I have every intention to stop paying Discovery and rather join a fund that spend their time on helping clients, rather than looking for reasons not to.
