STUPID MEDICAL AID EVER, **** SERVICE

Good Day, My name is Nomvuyo, i have been a member with Discovery for a while on my private capacity. I then changed companies and my current employer offered a medical aid subsidy which i then joined, however due to COVID and being in the Hospitality field, i had no choice but to cancel my medical aid due to non income as for me it didn't make sense to continue with the medical aid as we were layed off unit the economy picks up. November going to December i spoken to our Financial Manager regarding reapplying the medical aid as we had returned back to work and seeing the economy picking up very well. Application went through and all was fine, that's when the problem started so to speak, I have been experiencing a shoulder pain for a while now, the pain would come and go until i requested for my primary doctor for an specialist authorization. The form was submitted to the medical aid, i waited for 2 weeks for them to get back to me, to my surprise they canceled my request on the basis of me not disclosing that i have had been experiencing pain for a while. the very same pain that would come and go at times I'd forget about it and yes before applying for the medical aid i had seen another doctor who performed an ultra sound and advised that i have the calfication of the shoulder tendons, so this medical aid decided to cancel my authorization because i did not disclose that i have had this pain and that i had another medical procedures that i had to do years ago. The funny apart is that those procedures were done through this medical aid. So they cancelled my medical aid as well as i did not disclosed this. Guys, i would never recommend this medical aid to anyone, firstly it's expensive for no reason and they cancelled my medical aid on the above basis. Do not consider applying for this medical aid, they don't care about any one or the principal around the years you have been with them.
