*****sters - They are willing to tell you whatever just to get the sale
I am currently eight months pregnant. Five months into my pregnancy I decided to switch from Momentum to Discovery (worst mistake ever). I was blatantly **** to on my first call to Discovery and then on the sales call thereafter.
Because I was already pregnant and receiving cover from Momentum, I explicitly asked the sales agent (Kagiso Mbatha) whether my pregnancy would be covered in full. He assured me that there would be no waiting period and my pregnancy would be covered in full from the 1st of March 2023.
However, once I joined the scheme they app**** a general waiting period, which included all of my maternity benefits. So what? I was told whatever was necessary to make the sale? At what expense to me?
I was covered for my maternity with my previous medical aid so why would I join a new one with four months of my pregnancy left of which three would not be covered??
I have called numerous times regarding this, starting on the 31st of March 2023 with no feedback to date. Pondi and her team leader Lee-Ann are unwilling to call me back and when you try and get through to them the next agent just sends an email and calls it a day.
This has honesty been ridiculous and had I have been in the wrong they would have had this investigated a long time ago. They are wasting time until my waiting period is over and refuse to admit it.
If you were considering switching to Discovery, don’t. They are the worst.
