Stay away people!!!! Unacceptable Premium Increases & False Promises – Discovery Medical Aid

I am extremely unhappy with the current situation regarding my medical cover. We joined Discovery in March, yet we are still stuck in a holding period where we cannot use our medical benefits. Despite this, my premiums have been increased multiple times.

• When we joined, the premium was R6248 in March. • It then went up to R6681, and now it has escalated to R7280.

This is unacceptable. How can premiums keep rising while we are not even able to access the medical cover we are paying for?

I expect a clear explanation for these increases.

Furthermore, the consultant who sold this policy to us, Sebastian, made endless promises that have not been delivered. He assured us that emergencies would be covered. Yet when we had an emergency with our 2‑year‑old at the hospital, Discovery refused to pay a cent. Till today, we have received no reimbur*****t whatsoever, while the premiums continue to rise month after month.

This feels misleading and exploitative. Stay away from them people! I should have stayed with bestmed never had issues with them
