Specialist Benefits.... what are you paying, if you are told according to the "medical panel" that you cannot use them, just because they say so!!

All this is, is a *******. You have a specialist benefit on keycare plus. One needs approval from the GP. Which is fine, in this particular case, it's an ongoing treatment for my one dependent (Serious Lady stuff). It gets denied, because it can be managed by the GP who is not a Gynecologist. But the Gynecologist is the one that requested a follow up. So when I asked the question, so if I want to go for yearly check up and I still have specialist benefits available, it will not be covered. I was told no. So basically, you aren't allowed to go for a general check up and pap smear, out of your specialist benefits, which you pay for. It's truly disgusting. Why should you, as a paying customer be told if you can or cannot see a Gynecologist or not!!! So, if someone gets cervical cancer, because they were told, you cannot use your specialist benefits for a check up, then people and their families go through pain and suffering, and fork out money and go through all the heartache. Its just a business and all about profit. I will most definitely start looking for other medical aid options. If your GP refers you, it's for a reason.
