SMS saying I have been handed over!!!

Hi, to my surprise this morning I received an SMS from Discovery saying that I have been handed over to some company for debt collection? What is this all about? Are you not supposed to get in contact with me before handing me over to a debt collection company. I have not received a single letter or phone call telling/warning me that I need to pay you? Now when I want to make an arrangement directly with Discovery I am told it is too late? Can someone call me to sort this out please? I refuse to deal with your debt collection company!!!
