Simply a hardline *******

Discovery is no longer good. It is simply a *******.

My son has been on the Classic Comprehensive plan with me for his entire life. He turned 21 in March and his portion of the premium has instantly jumped by about R6000 per month to about R7250!

He is still a student and so not earning money to support himself but I must now pay R6000 more per month because Discovery is taking a hardline view that anyone over 21 must pay the full amount - no exceptions!

For one, Bonitas medical aid allows for student dependents to remain at low rates until the age of 24 which is completely reasonable. I have no doubt that other schemes do as well.

That at least keeps members on their scheme unlike my family who will now be dropping Discovery and moving after 22 years.
