Shocking Declining a Child in Pain
U declined 12 yr old child since July (monthly). She is in pain DAILY, UR medical board doesn't care, it's not UR child going through this hell. U clearly dont care about her quality of life & do not understand her condition, pain, tears, self-esteem, difficulties & feelings of having normal earlobes without throbbing pain. UR medical board is incapable of reading, nor understanding. U should be ashamed calling yourself health professionals. What's the function of an earlobe? The fleshy part of the outer ear that hangs down & designed to collect sound waves from air & guide them to the tympanic membrane. They do not contain cartilage, has a large blood supply & may help to warm the ears & maintain balance. Kayla achieved best U12 Swimmer 2015 - School & Best Snr Golf Girl 2015. What would Natalie du Toit (S.A Paralympic Swimmer) or Chad le Clos (Vitality Ambassador) say to UR ignorance & poor judgment in not caring about a child that has painful keloids & reached out to U so that she can have a quality life, enjoy social activities & not struggle. Decades ago U made it clear & profound promise, to make people healthier, enhancing & protecting lives? Really??

I understand that from your perspective, it is difficult to understand why a scheme cannot make individual concessions. As a scheme though, if we regularly made decisions (especially funding of items from the Risk benefit) based on motivations other than clinical merit, every member would be adversely impacted. This is why legislation via the Medical Schemes Act, sets strict rules regarding the sustainability of schemes and the disbur*****t of benefits. The Scheme must always balance the needs of all our members with keeping contributions affordable in the long term. If we were to cover everything without carefully assessing their risk impact, we would place the whole scheme and its members at risk financially.
