Service Providers vrs Day-to-Day Extender Benefit

<p>Hello,</p> <p> </p> <p>I have been a patient of my GP Dr Marais for many years, last year Discovery covered Extender Benefits that is when your MSA has run out they willcover 3 or 4 more visits at GP. Anyhow last year it was covered for Dr Marais and now this year not as Discovery has changed (without notifying any of its members) that the GP must be part of a drop in costs list thats all I can call it as they wanted the GP to drop to R300 per visit which is crazy - thus *****ing from clients who pay their memberships each year and that goes up... Now if GP doesn't drop to this redicilous amount then they are not on list! </p> <p>I now have to pay my own bills to GP otherwise go to vsit some weird cheap GP who I don't even feel for the amount is any good! And anyway why should we changed because they are trying to ***** from all by telling to drop their visit costs. I pay over R8000.00 per month medical aid and I still have to pay for GP visits which I do not abuse at all! They have alsready moved dentistry to come off of MSA which just one family member gors to dentist and it cost over R5000.00 thus reast of family cannot go to dentist for that year!</p> <p>I really feel that Discovery is not the solution as they are just taking nd not giving anymore -!</p> <p> </p> <p>Melinda Da Mata</p>
