I'm rather disappointed in Discovery. I am pregnant and my midwife referred me to a gynae. The total cost for my visit was R2500 and because they do not trust medical aids they require cash upfront then you would have to claim it back from the medical aid. From the R2500 discovery will only cover R746.90 meaning I would lose R1753.10. I get that the gynae was partial cover but to only receive an odd R746.90 for a consultation and scan with a gynae? I dont think there is a gynae who would charge so little. Worse these procedure codes that doctors use come from you guys as the scheme so you are the ones ripping us off.
This has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
