I am went on the discovery classic comprehensive plan, hooing that being one of the higest plans would guarsntee that I do not have hogh co-payments. Since falling pregnant I have seenthe worst of Discovery medical aid. They have not covered any of my gynae costs in full, in fact I pay majority of the claim out of my pocket. Yes, my gynea is not in their network but he is not charging excesaive fees, for each consulation he charges R1000, discovery only coveres plus minus 45 percent of these claims and inwould have tonpay the balance. The worst s for the csection cost which was R19200 again, discovery only paid 49% of this cost? What i the point of this medical aid if you pau almost R10000 a month for premiums and still have to pop up such huge amounts of co payments?! As clients we are bring forced to use network doctors in the most ********* and uncompetitive way. I will raise thisnwith the competition commission as well. I feel so cheated by discovery, where amnIngoing to grt almost R10 000 co payment while I am on less pay due to maternity leave? There are better options that discovery out there! Worse their cudtomer service is utterly useless. Discovery is behaving like a monopoly!
