Ridiculous upfront payment

Im more than frustrated as a member paying R3000 a month for a good plan, Im expected to pay R4500 upfront to have an endoscopy done (an in hospital procedure ) and then it is paid back after the fact from my day to day benefits. Whats the point of medical aid when I still need to scratch up near 5grand to have a procedure done in hospital that takes such a chunk from my savings.
