Ridiculous specialist rates decided by Discovery

Really unhappy and shocked at the payment rates that Discovery have decided are suitable for specialists, namely an obstetrician! We stuck with Discovery because of their decent maternity cover, but are beginning to realize it is useless. I put in a claim for my obstetrician visit, an amount of R872.00 which is pretty reasonable and fair for an obstetrician visit fee. Only to discover that Discovery have decided that an amount of R393.30 is a suitable rate for that kind of specialist who is not contracted to them - that is what a GP charges!!! We also thought with our plan that we got 200% back of the medical aid rate on our claims, only to discover that is only when I am actually in hospital. As soon as we have had this baby we are changing to a different medical aid, honestly VERY VERY unhappy.
