Restriction placed on Hypertension medication

Since October 2012 my wife has been using Lovispes for Hypertension. Since the medication is not on the chronic medication formula list we have been getting the medication on acute from our day to day benefit. 10mg per day has been prescribed and she has been using this dosage for 6 years, This month when we collected our medication from the Clicks pharmacy Discovery rejected the claim because someone at discovery decided that the maximum dosage allowed for this medication is now only 5mg per day. Because our prescription exceeded the now new Discovery allowed dosage I had to pay for my wife's PMB out of my pocket. A 45min cell call to the call center did not resolve the issue. Fudge Jones responded to my subsequent email and tried her best to resolve the issue. It now transpire that I need a Doctors letter to justify the dosage prescribed and that they would consider overriding the new restriction placed on the dosage for 6 months after which we will have to repeat the process. Why is it that there is always someone that makes decisions that may risk the life of someone without considering the consequences. If your decision would risk your life would you have made it. Please resolve the issue. Hypertension is a life threatening condition and my wife need her medication.
