Refusal to pay claim

Four months ago, I added my wife to my medical coverage, providing all the necessary health-related information as requested.

Today, my wife urgently required a wisdom tooth extraction recommended by a qualified dentist and a specialist. The specialist deemed it an urgent matter, aiming to perform the procedure within 24 hours.

Regrettably, Discovery, the medical insurance provider, considers this a pre-existing condition and has initiated an investigation that may last a week. I find this situation quite unusual and disappointing, as nobody with wisdom tooth issues has ever intentionally waited over four months to exploit the medical insurance system.

I have a suspicion that they are making considerable efforts to avoid covering the expenses, and I now regret the decision to include my wife on my medical plan. She could have remained with her employer's medical coverage without encountering these difficulties.
