Questioning Value

Yet Again I find myself questioning the value of Discovery products. I just spend 30 minutes on the phone with your consultant, asking why I have to pay R2350 upfront for my sons procedure. I am on the Classic Priority FYI. The answer I got was simple and I quote \Sir there is other plans that pay more

Hello v-paduto,

Thank you for your comment.

I have investigated your query ad confirmed members who choose the Priority Series of plans are covered comprehensively at a much lower premium, compared to the Comprehensive Series of plans.

The attractive contributions for the Priority plans are made possible by:

o Introducing deductibles for a defined list of in-hospital procedures.
o Certain limits on the Priority Plans are lower than the Comprehensive Plans.

On Priority Plans, you need to pay an amount upfront (a deductible) to the hospital when you are admitted for certain procedures.

The procedure your son is scheduled for is unfortunately one of the procedure that will attract a co-payment.

Regarding your claims query, I can confirm that you still have a Medical Savings Account (MSA) balance available. Therefore I would like to investigate the claims that are not paid.

You are welcome to send these to me in order for me investigate the non-payment.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish your son a speedy recovery.

Kind regards
Danita
