Questionable ethics (Reference ***)

<p>I sent an application for membership of my mum on the Keycare Plus option. She is 59 years old and has no monthly income. A bank statement was sent through with the application form to prvoe this.. Communication was sent that she was accepted with a 50% penalty fee due to her age. However, the amout of R1248 was questionable as she was placed on the 2nd bracket of an income between R290-R7550 when she has no earnings. I phoned and spoke to the consultant Aphiwe (the service specialist) whose explanation makes no sense as she has the audacity to tell me I'm okay with paying R435 but not R1248. This is a huge difference in price and she still insists family support is taken into account in my mum being placed on the higher bracket. Family support is an assumption, not a fact. The fact is the bank statement. I'm now suppose to get an affadavit stating my mum's previous medical history so they can review it and only then they could remove the late penalty. She could move to the lower bracket if another affadavit is sent stating her lack of finances. My dad who was a pensioner passed away 2 months ago and my mum re**** on his earnings. I believe this is ********* and the consultant needs to improve her customer service level and base information on facts. I am really disappointed as I am currently on Discovery Health.</p>
