Prejudicial policy

I am currently in my Above-the-threshold component in which the medical aid will only cover generic medication 100%. However I take a medication monthly that the chemist advised that there is no generic available for and therefore I need to pay in the differential. I find this unfair as I am being prejudiced for the pharmaceutical companies not producing a generic. I could understand if I chose a non-generic I would be liable but that choice does not exist. This is unfair consumer practice.
